My four tips for designing great greeting cards that sell
Continuing the celebrations of National Stationery Week, I decided to create a Pro Tip Tuesday based on Greeting Cards.
Here are my four tips for designing great greeting cards that sell:
The first tip is obvious but crucial: carefully choose a theme that fits the occasion. Select a clear theme and add a quirky touch. For example, a birthday cake is an obvious motif for a Happy Birthday card, but how you illustrate it makes it your own personal style.
2. Think about the layout. Portrait cards sell well on the shop floor as they are easy to display.
3. I like to imagine the person who will receive the card. Are they a cat lover? Do they like gardening? Include something unique and relatable to the receiver of your card.
4. Make sure that your text is visible in the top third of your card. Choose a font and placement that complements your design.
I hope you found this helpful.
