Kew Gardens - The Golden Thread-Week 9

This is week 9 of the Golden Thread year-long drawing challenge themed "London Calling."

Organised by @jehane_ltd

This week's prompt is " Kew Gardens"

I only visited Kew Gardens once while living in London. The journey was quite long, requiring a couple of trains and buses. Rocket was very small and impatient then.

When we arrived, we were not disappointed—the hothouse was amazing. I remember a beautiful exhibition of painting of watercolour butterflies.

I have a fondness for hothouses. I loved visiting the hothouses at the Royal Botanical Gardens in Edinburgh when I was studying at art college. We would be sent there to draw and observe the plants. I seem to have lost my confidence in drawing outdoors.

I truly love hothouses—they have such an amazing atmosphere. My illustration is inspired by the majestic hothouse at the Royal Botanical Gardens at Kew.

Do you have any plans to go out an draw in the wild this weekend?

Have a lovely weekend ahead. I hope the sun comes out for you
