Pro tip Tuesday - How to make a Digital texture library for illustration.

Welcome to another Pro Tip Tuesday!

Today I'm sharing how to create a digital texture library using hand-painted papers.

It's a fantastic way to preserve and use those special textured paper pieces in both analog and digital illustrations.

There's something magical about working with physical materials and embracing those happy accidents.

Here are my steps for creating a texture library for your illustration projects—swipe to see more.

  • Paint and make your papers

  • Using tiny pieces and blowing them up to scale. Helps makes great textures.

  • Scan your papers and make them sure you use at less 300Dpi and a jpg format.

  • Or use your iPad and take photos

  • Then you can print off the sheets for analogue illustrations

  • You can add them to your camera roll on your iPad

  • You can bring them on to Procreate files

  • You can play with clipping masks and filers to add texture to plain shapes.

  • You will have a nice library textures to use in your art work.

I hope you enjoyed this tip today and go and have fun making your own Digital texture library.
